International Day of Commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust ceremony at the UN
The UN observed the International Day of Commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust.
The UN’s Department of information, which is in charge of the United Nation’s Holocaust Outreach Programme, organized the event, which also included the following speakers: Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon; H.E. Mr. Mogens Lykketoft, President of the General Assembly; H.E. Mr. Danny Danon, Permanent Representative of Israel to the United Nations; H.E. Ms. Samantha Power, Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations and H.E. Mr. Felix Klein, Special Representative for Relations with Jewish Organizations, Federal Government of Germany, and other senior officials. The Keynote speech will be delivered by “Nazi Hunter” Mrs. Beate Klarsfeld, co-founder of the Beate Klarsfeld Foundation, who has dedicated her life to documenting the Holocaust to enable the prosecution of Nazi war criminals.
